Panel discussion, networking session to offer advice for beginning filmmakers
Cincinnati-area filmmakers have an opportunity to learn from some of the leading creators in cinema at a Film Cincinnati and Women in Film event, “Development 101,” a film salon and networking session on Tuesday, May 14 at 5 p.m. at the Cincinnati Club. The panel discussion and networking opportunities are designed to help beginning filmmakers prepare their projects for funding.
Headlining the panel is producer Gwen Bialic, returning to Cincinnati after serving as production manager for the Cate Blanchett/Rooney Mara film Carol. Also on the panel are Aymie Majerski, owner of Barking Fish Entertainment; Kristen Schlotman, executive director, Film Cincinnati; John J Cioffi, III, Chairman of Avenue A Films & Entertainment, and Sarah Lewis, entertainment and media attorney at Dinsmore & Shohl LLP.
“This is a rare opportunity for aspiring filmmakers to hear from some of the leaders in the industry,” said Schlotman. “It’s the chance to ask questions and get advice on how to bring a film project from concept to the screen.”
Registration opens at 5 p.m. and the salon starts at 5:45 p.m. Pizza and drinks will be served. A networking session will follow at Barking Fish, 30 Garfield Place. Tickets are $40 for the public, $20 for members and $10 for students and are available at bit.ly/WIF_Tickets.
