A LETTER FROM THE EXECUTIVE DIRECTOR

Because of concerns over COVID-19 and the limits on workplace gatherings, motion picture projects throughout the state of Ohio, and around the world, have been put on hiatus for the foreseeable future.

Despite the shutdown, Film Cincinnati remains active in the industry as we keep in contact with filmmakers and look forward to the upcoming months and new projects. We will continue to work with our partners, donors, and supporters to make sure Film Cincinnati remains a leading destination for motion picture projects.

Film Cincinnati is proud to represent Greater Cincinnati in the film industry and the hundreds of talented cast and crew members who live right here and contribute so much to each project. As conditions warrant, we will share news of projects and job opportunities on social media, by email, and on our website.

This is a rapidly changing situation and we encourage all of you to stay safe. If you have any questions, don’t hesitate to drop me an email at kristen@filmcincinnati.com. Thank you, as always, for your support of Film Cincinnati.

In the meantime, for those of you who may need financial help during this hiatus, here are some resources:

EXPANDED UNEMPLOYMENT INSURANCE RESOURCES:

Ohio Dept. of Job and Family Services: Coronavirus and Unemployment Insurance Benefits

Ohio Dept. of Job and Family Services: Unemployment Insurance Operations

SUPPORT FOR SMALL BUSINESSES & NON-PROFIT ORGANIZATIONS:

The Ohio Development Services Agency is preparing to submit an application in the coming week to qualify Ohio for the U.S. Small Business Administration’s (SBA) Economic Injury Disaster Loan Program. This program provides low-interest loans up to $2 million in order to help businesses overcome the temporary loss of revenue during the state of emergency.

In order to complete the state’s application, businesses impacted by the current public health crisis should immediately send their contact information to BusinessHelp@Development.Ohio.gov.

Stay united, safely.
Kristen Schlotman, Executive Director of Film Cincinnati
